About us
The role of Parish Councils is diverse, governed by a legal framework of (discretionary) powers and (mandatory) duties. Virtually all of these powers and duties relate to the overall well-being of a local community.
Being the most local level of government funded by the Council Tax Precept, it’s vital that your Parish Council represents the community it serves. Councillors work with residents to shape the Parish whilst protecting local services and ensuring decisions reflect local priorities.
π₯ St Georges & Priorslee Parish Council is made up of 11 Councillors meeting on the third Tuesday of each month (with the exception of August). All Councillors are volunteers giving up their time to make a difference in their local community. Councillors are elected for four years with the next election being May 2027.
